Basketball, it's just a game.
No, it's more than a game.
It's a passion.

The way your  possession impacts everything,
basketball is a life or death situation.
Basketball is like the military.
Trepidation in the eyes of the soldiers.

You work together with your comrades,
to battle the enemies.
Your comrade, he'll fall, and you are there
to lend a hand to him, being benign.

It doesn't matter what the outcome is,
as long as you fought hard and fought back.
You might have lost the battle, but in basketball,
you always win the war.

I really like how you compared basketball to being a battle. It really is :) However, in the line "to lend a hamnd to him, being benign," the vocabulary word felt forced. It kind of messed with the flow of the poem. Besides that, I liked it a lot.

Great metaphor. Comparing a battle to basketball makes the reader think. And it added alot of imagery to the poem. Causes your mind to explore this idea. Great poem! I agree that the vocabulary words kind of threw off the flow of the poem, but I still loved it! :)

Good comparison between basketball and war. Basketball is a battle day in and day out and i like how you incorporated that into this poem. Im not sure how much "Basketball is like the military" flows. Its not such a smooth transition. But a good poem.
